Visual Design Evaluator (contract)
Overview
MarketerHire is seeking a Visual Design Evaluator to assess AI-generated slide decks, layouts, interfaces, and marketing assets for craft, clarity, visual quality, and alignment with professional standards. This remote contract role requires 2–3 years of relevant design experience, a strong portfolio, proficiency in Figma and slide tools, excellent written English, and the ability to provide structured design judgments and feedback.
Responsibilities
<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Evaluate AI-generated designs against quality rubrics covering visual hierarchy, typography, layout, colour, spacing, and brand consistency.</li><li>Review slide decks, layouts, interfaces, and marketing assets for craft, clarity, and professional quality.</li><li>Identify craft failures such as misalignment, inconsistent spacing, poor contrast, illegible type, and broken visual hierarchy.</li><li>Determine whether designs accurately address the stated brief and locate areas where the work misses its intended objective.</li><li>Write clear, structured feedback and provide a written justification for every score.</li><li>Apply design judgment consistently when reviewing work that may appear polished at first glance.</li><li>Help refine grading criteria and contribute to improvements in the evaluation process.</li><li>Iterate on evaluation practices based on feedback from senior reviewers.</li></ul>
Requirements
<h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>2–3 years of professional experience in visual, graphic, brand, presentation, or UI design.</li><li>A portfolio demonstrating strong command of typography, layout, colour, and visual hierarchy.</li><li>High proficiency in Figma and slide tools, including PowerPoint and Google Slides; Adobe Creative Suite experience as relevant.</li><li>Ability to articulate design judgments in writing rather than presenting them visually only.</li><li>Excellent written English.</li><li>Ability to follow complex instructions, reason through ambiguity, and identify craft errors in polished-looking work.</li><li>Ability to clearly separate what you know from what you are inferring.</li><li>Ability to work independently, learn new tools quickly, and receive feedback constructively.</li><li>Based in and working from the US, Canada, or UK.</li><li>Available for 30–40+ hours per week for the full 12-week engagement.</li><li>A portfolio link is required with the application.</li></ul>
